December update 2020

Well, we made it through the election, sort of. It is clearer than ever that there is so much more work to be done to make this world a better place. We are committed to that work, and hope you are too. With some Batch Baking Company treats, we will get there!

We wanted to take a bit of your precious time as the season ramps up in full gear to express gratitude for each of you. Our business plan did not envision what was to become 2020. We pivoted, hopefully remained graceful, and you were with us each step of the way. Thank you.

As mentioned in our last email, we have some exciting things coming up to celebrate a month of light, giving and gratitude. So read on to find out more.

First and foremost, Friday, December 4th is National Cookie Day! On that day, all of our cookies (not brownies or palmiers) will be discounted, as will the pricing on a dozen cookies, while supplies last. It is like happy hour, but all day! Let us know ahead of time (info@batchbakingco.com) if you want to get a dozen or more to celebrate this very special of days.

Also, our shop remains open for pick-up and take-out during regular business hours, Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11am – 6pm (open until 7pm on Thursdays and Fridays). We of course are following all necessary guidelines (masks required, only one group of less than 5 in the shop at a time, maintain at least 6 feet of physical distance between people, cleaning all surfaces). So if you are inclined, please come by to see us, and of course buy a cookie, or 12.

Flavors

We have been busily putting together some awesome flavor and taste combinations, modifying some of our classics with a holiday twist. Some many of you may have tried before, while others are new to us all. We cannot wait to share them with you, so don’t wait!

  • Peppermint Squareo – We are making our beloved Squareo “wicked minty” this season by adding some peppermint flavoring to the filling, then dipping in crushed candy canes.

  • Thin Mint Chocolate Chunk – What do you get when you add a minty chocolate candy to the top of a classic chocolate chunk right out of the oven? Yummy goodness, that’s what!

  • Crystallized Ginger Gingersnap – Spice, punch, sweet. We’ve amped up this holiday favorite in typical Batch Baking Company fashion.

  • Fig/cinnamon palmier – It doesn’t get much better than our customer favorite - as well as Jared’s famous – treat enhanced by some sophisticated flavors of the holiday.

  • Holiday ice box cookie – We’ve taken Scot’s great-great aunt’s recipe and are playing with festive holiday colors and flavors

  • Shortbread – This classic is even more festive with holiday colors and flavors.

  • Christmas – December 18th

Holiday Hours

We plan to maintain our regular shop hours for most of December, with the below exceptions:

  • We will close early (4pm) on Thursday, December 24th.

  • We will be closed on Friday, December 25th.

  • We will close early (4pm) on Thursday, December 31st.

  • We will be closed on Friday, January 1st (2021!)

And don’t forget, the shop is open. Virtual hugs, “smizing” through the masks, a hearty wave along with yummy cookies!

There you have it. Flavors, gifting, events, and hours. The only thing left is to say thank you, to wish you a wonderful holiday season, and to encourage kindness and cookies each day!
