One year ago last month, we opened our retail bakery on 12th Avenue to customers. It was a quiet opening without a lot of fanfare.  We had cookies on the counter and smiles on our faces. And you came.  We were new to running a bakery and learning every day.  Squareos and chocolate chunk were our big sellers that day. The shop was sparse (still is), but we had tables and chairs, coffee and cookies. And we had you.

What a wild ride this year has been for all of us. We started strong, faced challenges in the middle, but we are still opening the doors one year later. We stayed flexible, pivoted, delivered cookies all over Seattle and kept baking goodies. And you kept buying cookies.

We want to say thank you. We appreciate our customers each day. Our goal of creating high quality, fun, and surprising versions of beloved classics as well as new and seasonal items hasn’t changed. Our love of baking and learning hasn’t changed. Treating customers with kindness, openness and respect hasn’t changed. We are grateful for you. That won’t change.

We continue to have the shop open for drop in customers (with COVID/social distance guidelines) and love to see you all when you drop in.  Hours for now continue to be 11am – 6pm Tuesday – Saturday, with extended hours to 7pm on Thursday and Friday.  We are also continuing to do deliveries within Seattle city limits, check the website for details.

A few upcoming things we wanted to let you know about.

Valentine’s day is coming, Sunday February 14th.  We have some special flavors and deals planned for the holiday.  Please place your order ahead of time to ensure availability by emailing info@batchbakingco.com. To ensure readiness for pick-up on the 12th or the 13th (we are closed on the 14th), please place your order by Wednesday, 2/10.

  • Raspberry fortune cookies are back.  A big hit last year.  Our delicious fortune cookies with some raspberry stripes to add some color and extra flavor.  A decorated box of 12 with your own custom fortunes for $18.00.

  • Chocolate covered salted caramels – a decorated box of 12 of our chocolate covered salted caramels for $20.00.  

  •  And some of our favorites with a Valentine’s Day twist:

    • Raspberry-filled squareo

    • Our sweet, heart-shaped palmiers

    • Classic icebox cookie with some traditional Valentine’s Day colors

    • Heart-shaped Mexican chocolate wafer with red sugar sprinkled on top

 

Neighborhood delivery is coming back.  We are doing another round of our popular neighborhood delivery program starting in late February.  In this program, we do no-fee deliveries on set days to specific Seattle neighborhoods.  See below for more detail. 

  • West Seattle – Friday, February 19th (order by noon on Thursday, February 18th)

  • North Seattle – Friday, February 26th (order by noon on Thursday, February 25th)

  • South Seattle – Friday, March 5th (order by noon on Thursday, March 4th)
